  • Workshops and Educational Programmes

Throughout the year, DVR runs educational support programmes for women who have left their relationships. Our programmes are facilitated by experienced staff, and are designed to empower and provide information to women in a mutually supportive environment.

Workshops and educational programmes

We run a number of workshops and education programmes each year on various topics relating to domestic violence and abuse. These workshops are available to women who have left their relationships.

Paths to Freedom is a ten week programme for women who have left abusive relationships. A combination of peer support, educational inputs and experiential learning it is designed to facilitate a woman’s journey to empowerment and a life free of abuse.

Parenting in the aftermath of domestic abuse is a six week programme designed to help women create violent free homes, interrupt intergenerational violence and equip women to re-establish parental control.

Absolutely loved Paths To Freedom and benefited greatly from it. I feel more informed now and more equipped to deal with my situation.

Paths to Freedom

It broke the isolation, humiliation and shame and I gained a lot from it. Atmosphere was warm and friendly and people were treated with absolute respect and dignity.

Estrangement and Loss Workshop

I am so grateful for the Healthy Relationships course – I know what to look out for and I have more confidence in my ability to recognise abusive behaviour early in the relationship.
